For Anna Montanez, real estate has never just been about houses—it’s always been about people.

Helping people has always been my passion,” Anna shares. Long before real estate, that passion showed up in healthcare. She began her career as a nursing student and nursing assistant, working in a hospital and caring for people through injuries and illness. While she loved serving others, she eventually realized that path didn’t fully align with where she felt called.

That realization led her to East Carolina University, where she studied Business and Management, and eventually into property management. It was there that everything clicked.

Helping students move into their first apartments, watching their excitement, and being a steady source of guidance made Anna realize just how impactful housing truly is. As she moved into multifamily housing, that passion grew even deeper as she helped families, graduate students, and professionals relocating for work find spaces that felt like home.

Real estate became the natural next step—it allowed me to combine my passion for helping people with guiding them through one of the most important decisions of their lives,” Anna explains.

It allowed Anna to combine her love for people with guiding them through one of the biggest decisions of their lives. Whether it’s a first home, a new chapter, or a forever home, Anna thrives on learning her clients’ stories and making sure they feel informed, supported, and confident every step of the way.

Why Real Estate Matters to Anna

Anna realized real estate was her passion while she was still in college. She saw firsthand that every transaction—whether buying, selling, or renting—represents a meaningful life moment.

Everyone is in a different chapter—a first apartment, a new home, a first house, or even selling and moving across the country. While those situations look different, they all share one thing in common: each comes with its own unique and emotional story,” she says.

Those stories matter deeply to her.

Real estate is a big deal, no matter how many transactions someone has been through. To buyers and sellers, it’s a major decision, and I want my clients to feel that their choice is never taken lightly.

Her goal is to make the process feel informed, supported, and as stress free as possible so her clients can focus on what matters most.

My passion is making an impact and ensuring the home buying process feels informed, supported, and as stress free as possible.

Staying Grounded Through the Challenges

As a commission-only W-9 agent, Anna understands that motivation and consistency can be challenging. What keeps her grounded is her faith, her family, and her long-term vision.

I remind myself that worry won’t change my situation, but hard work and faith will,” she says.
I truly believe that the enemy tries to attack what God has placed in your life, so in those moments I lean back into my purpose.

Balance is also essential to how she shows up for her clients and herself.

Balance is essential for me—showing up as my best requires time for my work, my family, and myself.

She’s grateful to be part of MacDonald Realty Group, a brokerage that understands success isn’t just about production, but about supporting the whole person.

Advice She’d Give Her Younger Self

If Anna could go back and speak to herself on the day she earned her real estate license, her message would be simple.

I would tell myself to worry less and trust more.

At the time, she was working a 9–5 job she had outgrown, torn between comfort and calling. Choosing real estate meant fully stepping into her purpose.

Real estate is a game of chess, not checkers. It requires patience, strategy, hard work, and dedication,” she explains. “But the joy of seeing my clients happy and confident in their decisions makes it worth it every time.”

Life Beyond Real Estate

Outside of real estate, Anna is deeply rooted in her faith and community.

I truly believe in being a ‘villager’ for others, especially during difficult seasons.

She enjoys sand volleyball during the summer months, starts most mornings at the gym to stay disciplined, and treasures time with her family.

My family means everything to me—they are the backbone of what I do.

A Message for Future Clients

Above all else, Anna wants future clients to know that working with her is about more than a transaction.

To me, clients become family.

She listens closely, shows up consistently, and supports her clients through every step of the journey.

I truly listen to what you want, what you need, and what you’re going through, and I show up for you every step of the way.

Serving others with care, faith, and intention is at the heart of everything Anna does.

The people who cross my path do so for a purpose, and I never take that lightly.

At the end of the day, Anna believes that real estate is about far more than buying or selling a home—it’s about people, purpose, and showing up with intention. She doesn’t take lightly the trust her clients place in her and views every relationship as an opportunity to serve with care, faith, and integrity. Whether you’re stepping into your first home, your next chapter, or something entirely new, Anna is committed to walking alongside you every step of the way— listening, supporting, and helping you move forward with confidence.
